For the vast majority of people, using coupons online is something new. We've tried to provide answers below for some of the most common questions we receive.

How can I use CouponMountain.com to save money on my online purchases?
For even more detail about using coupons online, we recommend you read Our Guide To Using Online Coupons.

How do I know if a coupon has worked?
You should see a discount in your shopping cart once a coupon has been successfully applied to your purchase. We occassionally list coupons from merchants, like CatalogCity or Sharper Image, that explicitly tell you during the checkout process that your credit card will be billed for the full amount, but that they will rebate your credit card within 30 days.

What should I do if the coupon does not work?
There may be a number of reasons why a coupon does not work. Because merchants can, and do, change their coupons and promotions frequently, make sure you see the discount in your shopping basket before you make your order final. If the shopping basket does not show a discount, it can mean that either:

  • The coupon code has not been properly entered. Enter the code once more.
  • The restrictions for the coupon code have not been met. Check the fine print to make sure your purchase meets the requirements (if any) to use the coupon code.
  • The coupon has been withdrawn by the merchant or is no longer valid. Some merchants do not indicate how long their coupon codes are valid for, so if the code does not work, it is safe to assume that the coupon code is no longer valid.
  • The merchant website is not functionality properly.
  • If you try all of the above, and the coupon still does not work, please give us feedback in response to our question, "Did this coupon work" by clicking "No" on the window displaying the details of the coupon. This enables us to make sure that the coupons posted on our website are valid, and provides a better user experience for everybody.

Why do some of your coupons have no date restrictions?
Some merchants prefer to limit the number of coupons redeemed rather than establish a date limit because this allows them to control their promotional budget. For example if a merchant offers "£10 off a £50 purchase or more", but limits redemptions to 5000, the merchant has set a cap on their promotional budget of £50,000.

I see some new tools on your site including Notify Me and Save Coupons. What do these do?
Many of you have expressed an interest in automatically receiving the latest coupons for a particular merchant or shopping category by email. We've created that functionality and called it Notify Me. Simply click on Notify Me and check any merchant or category that you would like to receive promotional offers for, and we will automatically send these to you free of charge. If at any time, you wish to discontinue receiving these emails, you can unsubscribe from the service.

Save Coupons allows you to save any coupon or promotional offer so that you can view it at a later date.

Where do you get your coupons from?
We get many of our coupons directly from merchants who want to use promotions to drive sales to their sites. However we also learn about coupons and promotional offers from loyal users, chat boards, promotional mailings and by surfing the Internet. If you would like to share an offer you have found, please Contact Us. We will be glad to give you credit for finding the offer on our website if you wish, and you'll be happy in knowing that hundreds or even thousands of other shoppers will benefit from your generosity.

Can I use these coupons in my local store?
No. At this time, we only provide online clickable coupons that you can redeem at online merchants. In the future we hope to have printable coupons that you can use in your local store, but we have been unable to find a comprehensive source for offline coupons.

If I am not satisfied with my purchase, who should I contact?
Please contact the online merchant directly. They will have access to your order history, and should be able to respond to your needs. Please let us know if you find that a merchant listed on our website is not providing an acceptable level of customer service.
